November: Moderation and Movement
Hello everyone!
Welcome to my first blog post. Each month, you can find some of our highs, lows and exciting moments within Starbucks. But before we get to the good stuff, let me introduce myself.
I'm InterceptSpaceTime, or simply put, Spacey, (mainly because InterceptSpaceTime is a bit of a mouthful! I joined Starbucks many years ago, and since then, I have climbed the ranks, to Vice Chairman. When I started at Starbucks, I was simply a barista, struggling to get to grips with the menu (I still do!) Whilst being in my position of Vice Chairman, I have seen a number of people come and go, people getting promoted, demoted, but more importantly, grow with us!
In the past year, I have decided it was time to get Starbucks back to where it once was. It has been, and still is a long journey ahead, but I am so pleased to see everyone's hard work. As this is a team effort, and not a one man band. Lets jump in to how we're adapting, growing and becoming everyone's favourite coffee.
Moderation at an all time high!
Our staff, and my colleagues have been working so hard to ensure that our game and Discord are both correctly moderated, and a safe place for all. We do this via a number of services to our disposal. From logging warnings, to removing trouble makers, doing these things allow us to ensure that our servers are safe.
We also have a large security team, which allows us to ensure that every sip is safe. We do this by giving our staff the very best of training. And we do this to ensure our members are safe, and have the freedom to enjoy our coffee and services.
Movement is key!
We have seen a large community presence in the past few months. We have recently started a daily QOTD, which we ask all our members to get them interacting with all of our members. Not only this, but we also host regular shifts (finally!) and regular game nights, which have had a positive impact to all our members. We try our best to host atleast 1 games night a week, and our best to host a handful of shifts each week. This has seen a positive impact.
We also changed the 'QOTD' role to 'Events to better aid our different questions. This also allows our members who wish to parktake in events to be notified when we have a new one!
Not only do we now have our events everyday, we are also reaching out to our community with surveys, regarding how we run our group, and how we can improve our services, group and of course our amazing coffee!
With the responses we get, the entire team will discuss each and everyone, and implement them to group.
Pretty good, right?!
That's the end of this month's blog. Make sure to tune in next month for even more updates!
Have a great month everyone - and to our American friends, happy Thanksgiving!
Until next time.
